Moby Dick Cover

For this project, I created a typographic book cover. The novel I chose for this project was the classic Moby Dick by Herman Melville. To allow the typography to stand out in an interesting, unseen prior way, I chose to design the whale’s teeth in the form of the text and the author’s name in the beast’s scars. An important aspect of this project to me was not only how the teeth read as the title but also how it and the surrounding environmental elements displayed the dangerousness of Moby Dick.
